We will view the Oscar winning documentary film Born Into Brothels (2005), which takes place in Calcutta, India. The premise of this film is that a professional photographer works with children living in brothels (places of prostitution) and teaches them how to be photographers. Their images rise to international acclaim, and the photographer tries desperately to get these kids out of the brothel-influenced life that they lead. The photographs tell an amazing story of lives lived elsewhere. This film has won more than 20 international MAJOR film awards (Sundance, Emmy, Seattle, Academy Award...).
